If you want to develop your book manuscript with me, the process starts with building a book proposal together, and then moves into manuscript development via one of these methods:
- Ghostwriting—I will help you develop and craft your content (in the form of notes, transcripts, etc.) into a compelling manuscript, while preserving your language and voice as fully as possible. This process typically takes 8-12 months (sometimes less, sometimes more––the big factor is how much content development is necessary).
- Developmental Editing—I will provide coaching and editing as you build your manuscript from its conceptual stages to its final form. The timeline for this process is largely determined by your writing schedule, publishing deadlines, etc.
In addition to manuscript development, I provide the following services, primarily on an hourly basis:
- Content Development—helping you collect appropriate content for your manuscript through various methods, such as interviews and research.
- Content Editing—evaluating the strength and structure of the concepts, illustrations, and language in the manuscript and offering recommendations for how to improve them.
- Copy Editing—correcting basic elements such as grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and style.
- Proofreading—providing final eyes on your typeset manuscript before it goes to the printer.
- Copy Writing—creating back cover/jacket copy, marketing and website copy, blogs, and any other pieces you may need.
